The Tunisian Ministry of Interior organized a high-level meeting between the Minister of Interior and the German Ambassador to Tunisia, Peter Prügel. The meeting aimed to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in areas such as counterterrorism, border protection, forensic and scientific policing, and local affairs.
According to the statement issued by the ministry, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing progress in their mutual cooperation and emphasized the need to continue supporting this collaboration.

In other aspects of the meeting, there was a discussion about the issue of illegal migration. The efforts of Tunisian international bodies and security units in combating this phenomenon were reviewed, amidst the challenges and criticisms that Tunisia faces.
Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation to seek effective solutions, including supporting the voluntary repatriation of irregular migrants to their countries in collaboration with international organizations. Additionally, supporting them through development projects in their home countries was highlighted as a way to address the issue.
